“You’re in a tough spot
You feel trapped
You got no options
You’re caught in a situation where you have no control
Takes its toll on you
And all you want to do is run
But run where?
There’s a way out
—A way out, of this maze”

It’s over.  My epic Prison Break series re-watch is finally complete.  Having now revisited the series’ four seasons (plus the special “missing chapter” The Final Break), I can say without hesitation that my love for this show has not only held up, it has grown.  The ensemble is fantastic, the stories - however ridiculous - prove addictive and entertaining, and though the series may never have regained the fantastic momentum of Seasons One and Two, the cast and crew still managed to deliver a thrilling tale of escape, conspiracy, revenge, and ultimately the power of family right up to the bittersweet conclusion.  At its core, Prison Break was always about the bond between two brothers, a sibling dynamic brought to life extraordinarily well by Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller.  I could go on and on about the long roster of supporting players who delivered knockout performances; William Fitchner, as always, is extraordinary, and it continues to blow my mind that the outstanding Robert Knepper never received any major award recognition for his performance as the nefarious Theodore Bagwell.  All in all, Prison Break is a fast-paced, high-concept, adventure that is well worth a watch (or re-watch).  It’s been a fun trip to travel again.

  • Sucre: What's another word for 'love'?
  • Michael: What's the context?
  • Sucre: Oh, you know, 'I love you so much, I ain't never knocking over a liquor store again' context. Except, you know, classy.
